About FPMA

The Food Price Monitoring and Analysis (FPMA) Tool is a user-friendly web-based platform developed by the Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS) in the FAO Markets and Trade Division (EST) to facilitate the dissemination, monitoring, and analysis of price data.

FAO GIEWS maintains an in-house global version of the tool that includes domestic price series for over 100 countries as well as over 80 benchmark commodity prices. The global FPMA Tool can be accessed publicly at https://fpma.fao.org/.

FAO has been promoting the use of the FPMA Tool at country or regional level for several years. The Tool can be installed “on-premises” or provided as a cloud-based runtime service and customized at country or regional level.  The cloud-based option can be quickly and efficiently made available to countries and is not dependent on local IT infrastructures.

This document is intended as a resource for users of the FPMA Tool (version 4.1.1 as of August 2024). It provides background information and instructions on data management operations and the configuration of the FPMA Tool. It aims to facilitate effective navigation and utilizion of the Tool.
